I love that feeling when I’m traveling, everything feels so easy. Below is my daily morning hack. It helps me position my days so I can feel more grounded, as I do when I’m on the road! Scroll below for more thoughts on this.
- 5:30am – Wake Up
- 5:45am – Drive to the river walk
- 6:15am – 3 – 4 mile run
- 7:30am – Meditate (Check out Dr. Joe Dispenza)
- 8:00am – Journal
- 8:15am – Read (30 minutes) and then on with it! (currently reading ‘The Richest Man in Babylon’)
There’s a neuroscientist by the name of Dr. Joe Dispenza. He talks about how over 80% of people check their phones in the first 15 minutes after waking up. Joe has a funny and very real view on this – he says people are essentially living in their past. Waking up and slipping into the same person they were yesterday.
“ We are creatures of habit. We think somewhere between 60,000 to 70,000 thoughts in one day, and 90 percent of those thoughts are exactly the same ones we had the day before. We get up on the same side of the bed, go through the same routine in the bathroom, comb our hair in the same way, sit in the same chair as we eat the same breakfast and hold our mug in the same hand, drive the same route to the same job, and do the same things we know how to do so well with the same people (who push the same emotional buttons) every day. ”

So if we’re living in the past, who is planning our future? The simple but powerful thing about a morning routine is that it lets you think about your goals and intention for the day before getting started. Notice I said “your” – don’t forget who’s driving.
